Leisure Sector Washroom Cubicles

Ideal for damp areas

The Leisure sector often requires more hard wearing cubicles than other sectors. Be it a Gym, Sports Centre, or Swimming Pool the high traffic, dampness and higher humidity of the environment can be highly damaging to the traditional MFC boards used to manufacture washroom cubicles.

This is why our recommended ranges of cubicles for the leisure sector are built using SGL panels instead. SGL is a very tough impact resistant material that will not splinter or degrade with constant rough use. While MFC can swell in humid or wet environments SGL is entirely watertight. the laminate designs on SGL panels will not be damaged to discolour when exposed to industrial cleaning agents, allowing for hygienic deep cleaning.

Specifying leisure and wet-area cubicles

Leisure washrooms and changing areas are the most demanding environment a cubicle faces - constant moisture, chlorine or salt in the air, and very high footfall. This is why SGL / compact-grade laminate is the standard route for gyms, swimming pools, spas and leisure centres: it is waterproof through its full thickness, will not swell or delaminate, and shrugs off impact and industrial cleaning.

In wet changing areas we specify full-height (floor-to-ceiling) cubicles with reduced ground clearance for privacy, paired with corrosion-resistant stainless-steel or satin-anodised fittings rather than standard hardware. Matching SGL changing cubicles, lockers and changing-room benching can be reviewed as one coordinated leisure package.

Toilet cubicles for leisure and changing areas

Leisure washrooms often experience heavier use, higher moisture levels and more frequent cleaning than standard office toilets. Gyms, swimming pools, sports clubs and changing facilities therefore need cubicles selected around durability as well as appearance.

Wet or humid spaces may require SGL or compact laminate panels, robust fittings and careful coordination with shower areas, lockers and benching. Dry leisure toilets can sometimes use a different system from the changing room areas, so it is worth separating room types before choosing one range for the whole project.
