Project Overview
Wet-area changing and shower facilities that shrug off constant moisture
The Amble Links brief was a full wet-area changing and shower facility, so every element, from changing and shower cubicles through to lockers, vanities and benching, was specified in Mirage SGL to cope with standing water and steam.
With showers and changing areas in near-constant use, Amble Links needed a specification that could cope with sustained moisture and condensation rather than just the occasional splash, without the panels swelling or the finish breaking down over time.
Items Supplied
- 12mm SGL Changing Cubicles
Full-height changing cubicles in 12mm SGL, built to stay dimensionally stable in a humid changing room. - 12mm SGL Shower Cubicles
Shower cubicles specified to sit in direct spray without the panels swelling or delaminating. - 12mm SGL Wet Area Lockers
Wet-area lockers with coin-operated locks, rated for the damp environment beside the showers. - Split Level Vanity Units
Split-level SGL vanity units held to the same moisture spec as the rest of the room. - Wet Area Benching
Wet-area benches for changing and drying alongside the shower runs.
Why Mirage suited a wet changing and shower area
Genuinely wet environments like shower blocks and changing rooms are where Mirage's SGL construction earns its keep — the 12mm panels shrug off standing water and steam without warping, and the split-level vanity and locker areas needed the same water resistance to keep the whole scheme consistent.

Fitting out changing rooms or shower facilities?
Wet areas only work when everything in the room meets the same moisture standard. We supply the changing and shower cubicles, lockers, vanities and benching as one coordinated wet-area package rather than piecing it together from separate suppliers.
