Dirty Toilet? Cola Can Help!

If your toilet cubicles get a lot of use – much more than the average bathroom – then you need to make sure that they stay as clean as possible for as long as possible. But, unfortunately, the more they are used the more likely they are to show signs of wear and tear a lot quicker.

Those of you out there who do have unsightly stains that no amount of scrubbing will seem to get rid of, it might be time to put away the bleach and try to think outside the box a little. It’s been said time and time again that cola is a very effective cleaner, so why not pour some into your toilet bowl and see if it can make it sparkle once again?

It’s very simple and quick to do – all you have to do is pour the drink into the bowl, making sure it gets under the rim, and then sit back and wait for half an hour. If you’ve got some serious stains to tackle, you could always leave it overnight as well. When your time’s up, scrub around the bowl then flush – the phosphoric acid should have got rid of all that nasty limescale for you, with hardly any effort at all!

There are other everyday products you can use to clean your loo as well, from essential oils, baking soda, vinegar and lemon juice. If you’re keen to be green when it comes to keeping things clean, these would all be excellent alternatives to modern cleansers.
